The World Cup 2026 runs from Thursday, June 11 to Sunday, July 19, 2026. That's 39 days and 104 matches across the United States, Canada and Mexico.

It opens with Mexico against South Africa at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City and ends with the final at MetLife Stadium near New York. Apple Calendar (iPhone, iPad, Mac)#

Google Calendar#

Google handles this on desktop, not in the phone app. Open calendar.google.com, click the plus next to "Other calendars," pick "From URL" for a live feed or "Import" for the one-time file, and add it. It then syncs down to your phone on its own.

Outlook#

In Outlook on the web, open the calendar, click "Add calendar," then "Subscribe from web," and paste the feed URL. The desktop app uses "Add Calendar," then "From Internet."

A few group games to circle early: Spain vs Cape Verde on June 15, France vs Senegal on June 16, and England vs Croatia on June 17, a rematch of their 2018 semi-final. Spain and Argentina are the two top seeds, and the bracket keeps them apart until the final.

Reading the knockout codes: 1A is the winner of Group A, 2B the runner-up of Group B, and a code like 3ABCDF a third-placed team from one of those groups. A slash code such as 2A/2B means the winner of the Round-of-32 tie between 2A and 2B. The real names fill in as results come through, which the subscribed feed does for you.

Why are there 104 games this time?#

This is the first 48-team World Cup, up from 32 in 2022. More teams means more matches: 104 in total, against 64 four years ago.

The 48 teams are split into 12 groups of four. Each side plays three group games. The top two from every group advance, plus the eight best third-placed teams. That sends 32 teams into the knockout bracket through a brand-new Round of 32.

The third-place rule changes how you watch. A team can finish in the bottom half of its group, win once, and still go through. So nothing is settled until the final whistle of matchday 3. And the Round of 32 starts the day after the group stage ends, with no rest built in, so squad depth is going to matter.
